Keith's story
When his best friend Keith was diagnosed as terminally ill with cancer, Addam Smith set out to do what any mate would — anything and everything to make life a little easier for Keith and his family.
From that, Band of Builders was born. The group came together to raise £100,000 to secure his family’s future and allow them to remain in their cherished home.
Keith’s story inspired a nationwide movement — proof of what can be achieved when people unite with compassion and purpose.
What these guys have done, and what they're doing, is amazing. We didn't think it was possible — that people would do something like that for us.
Proud to lend a hand
The team at Shield Build have been honoured to contribute to two incredible Band of Builders projects, giving our skills and time to make a real difference in the lives of fellow tradespeople in need.
In early 2025, our director Andrew was personally selected to project-manage one of the charity’s builds — a testament to his leadership, experience and commitment to the cause.
Being part of such meaningful work has been a privilege for the whole team, and we’ll continue to support the ongoing mission of Band of Builders.
