From apprentice carpenter to trusted building expert
Shield Build was founded by Andrew Little, a qualified carpenter and joiner.
Andrew completed his NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Carpentry and Joinery and went on to work across all areas of residential construction. In 2014, he founded Shield Build Carpentry and Construction with the vision of delivering honest, reliable and high-quality work.
From humble beginnings, the business has grown into a trusted building contractor specialising in extensions, refurbishments, loft conversions, kitchens and fire safety works.

St Catherine's Hospice
After his mum was cared for by St Catherine’s Hospice before she passed away in June 2024, Andrew is proud to support the hospice through fundraising, volunteering and donating his time and skills.
He built the changing facilities for one of their shops completely free of charge.
