We were proud to support Band of Builders – a charity that empowers tradespeople to help fellow builders facing tough times.
When finding out his best friend Keith was terminally ill with cancer, Addam Smith set out to do what any mate would do; anything and everything to make life a little bit easier for Keith and his family.
From this, Band Of Builders was created and the group came together to raise £100,000 to secure his family's future and allow them to remain in their cherished home.
Keith's story inspired a nationwide movement, showing what can be achieved when people unite with compassion and purpose. Here at Shield Build, we are incredibly proud to a part of Band of Builders and the ongoing work that they do, supporting others in their time of need.
"What these guys have done, and what they're doing, is amazing. We didn't think it was possible, that people would do something like that for us."
The team at Shield Build were honoured to contribute to two incredible projects with Band of Builders, offering their skills and time to help make a real difference in the lives of fellow tradespeople in need. In early 2025, our Director, Andrew, was personally selected to project manage one of the charity's builds – a testament to his leadership, experience, and commitment to the cause. Being part of such meaningful work has been a privilege for the entire team, and we remain proud to support the ongoing mission of Band of Builders.
